Soldiers experiences during D-Day.
Soldier's on boat preparing for attack
During D-Day as the Allied soldiers were riding onto shore some of the soldiers were nervous and got seasickness and threw up. Once they were charging though they felt a rush of adrenaline and some said like Leonard Lomell said that they didn't know what to shoot at because all the Germans were in bunkers. Their equipment was also very heavy and when charging out of the boat some soldiers were sinking and had to get rid of some of what they had as equipment just to survive from drowning.
"We didn't stop; we played it just like a football game, charging hard and low." Leonard Lomell, voices of D-Day
"I felt nothing but a little sting at the time, but I knew I was shot." Thomas Valence, voices of D-Day.
